Education, for example, has increases in expenditure under Labour but the control of the state has been forced back dramatically. You simply have to look at the new numbers of faith schools and Academies etc which are opening to prove that.

There has been a huge amount of regulation and laws to control the rest of the economy, and life in general.

It does not look to me as if the state has been rolled back very far.
