Schadenfreude stalks the BNP…

Nation of Duncan carries a few other comments on the scandal of teachers being BNP members. It is interesting how the fascists are reacting to the publication of the list. A sudden return to “we’re being persecuted, waaahwaaah!” seems to be the order of the day. On the other hand I would point out that it’s probably not a good idea to have racists teaching kids. I’ve been alerted to the potential for the General Teaching Council and the Police authorities to ignore the list on the basis that it would be fruit from a poison tree. One can’t act on illegally acquired material apparently.

That would be a shame. However I wonder if the local media around the country will be quite so vociferous in trying to out their local racists as they are in other areas. Duncan also carries a fantastic section about Nick Griffin wailing about how this is a breach of the Human Rights Act and the Data Protection Act. I’ll remember that the next time that fascist twit is complaining about how such laws make Britain weak on immigration and how they should be overturned.

On the other hand, come to think of it, Ian Bone has a point. However, can’t mass action be directed at forcing the state to do something? I imagine the local communities will not take kindly to having racists teach their kids? And what of other teachers at the school, whatever trade union they belong to? I can’t see many NUT members being happy with the idea of a fascist among their ranks. I certainly wouldn’t be were this teacher at my school. Moreover, what of the students? Had a fascist teacher been uncovered while I was a student, I’d've been among the first people protesting for them to be fired.

It doesn’t get any more ironic than some fascist saying “It’s like a fascist state!” on the news…. Sadly, it will help the BNP. As the saying goes, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

What this shows is that though most of the traditional voters alienated by New Labour have dropped out of voting, the lack of class politics has left open territory for racists.
