The full article
I enjoyed this comment from a troll at The Spectator the other day, replying to an Alex Massie blogpost on the Andrew Neather Evening Standard immigration policy nonsense:
‘And the piece you point to at ‘Though Cowards Flinch’ (bless) is a belter. Semple, having declared himself as a no holds barred socialist, and who litters his every paragraph with mindless ravings about the right wing blogosphere, assures his readers that they will just have to trust his elision of someone else’s PhD paper! OK David, we know we can go with that.’
Actually, it was my piece. I’m not sure who this Semple bloke is who’s been impersonating me but I’ll check it out and have him dealt with.
I also set out pretty clearly why I couldn’t provide immediate free access to the full article by Dr Alex Balch (pictured) from which I quoted, and what I was doing about it; I’d had to ask Alex about whether he could get copyright stuff sorted with his publisher to allow for free access.
Alex has kindly done that, and his publisher, the British Journal of Politics and International Relations, has now granted free access.
Here is Alex’s full article. (Update: link was broken – now fixed).
I think you’ll find Neather was talking utter bollox about there being some kind of big cunning ‘multicultural’ plot.
Although of course, if you read the Spectator, Alex might be in on it too, and his whole PhD may be part of the devilishly intricate plan.
