Well in some ways, that was a relief, as it's not too different from what CLPs who do things properly are doing. I don't think we should ever drop voter id, as it is possible to do the other things properly AND do the voter id.

I agree that there are times when it's better not to brand things Labour - although it's worth pointing out that doing so is sometimes the only option as data protection laws mean we couldn't otherwise use certain resources to send out "what you can do next to support the campaign" mailings etc to people who have, for example, signed petitions.

Contact Creator isn't monolithic - it depends how you use it what use you get out of it. It's best used to target particular campaigns on the people who're most likely to respond - not to exclude some people, but to use limited resources effectively in campaigns that might be constituency-wide rather than just street-wide (when obviously you can contact everyone).

If you send me a non-council e-mail address I'll send you some info about what we've been doing locally (and I think I can hit every point you've raised there), which I don't want to make available publicly.

Agree enthusiastically about getting into workplaces (also sheltered homes etc), which can be difficult, but is very important. We've had some success with that locally, but I'll admit that antipathy towards the national government amongst some trade unionists can make it more difficult that I'd like it to be.
