Yes, and would lurve to know what everyone in the constituency actually thinks and or gives a toss.

Oh, and Tory emphasis on the heterosexual institution of marriage. Niiice....

Can't wait for the second instalment:

Thinking about it, the statement that they shared the cake with residents could amount to an admission of treating. I wonder if anyone has reported them to the Electoral Commission?

I'm not sure it's worth getting married just to produce a leaflet - but I'll bear it in mind :)

I hadn't noticed that they'd shared the cake with residents - it just gets better and better. The poor folk at the gate getting to benefit from the feudal lord's largesse, I hope they tugged their forelock as a thank you.

"...the 4-tiered wedding cake, much of which has now been shared with people in Carshalton & Wallington."

I love this ridiculous decision to point out that they've shared cake with constituents. What possible difference will it make? I can't imagine anyone saying, "Well, I was going to vote Labour but that nice Tory candidate did give me a slice of cake once..." I bet the Lib Dem candidate there is already frantically sending out custard slices to shore up his narrow majority.

So, so terrible I'm lost for words. What a chump.

While we're on the subject of bad leaflets, this one shows Tories don't have the monopoly of them!

It is a bit sickly. Not sure how it will play, as I have no detailed knowledge of the demographics of the constituency. I suppose it could make some people feel more like they know the couple and increase the feeling that they're part of the community. On the other hand, it looks quite a posh, expensive do.

More interestingly, now he has deliberately put his marriage into the public domain, does that open up his personal life for legitimate attack? (I ask this as a genuine question, not because I think we should go down this route.)
