Three simple questions
Iain Dale has to the good grace at least to ask whether the consultation proposals to end secure tenancies are a good idea, although he does seem to have half made his mind up.
So in return, rather than repeat the mafia satire, I’ll ask him three fairly simple questions:
1 Is where he lives primarily an asset, or a home?
2 If it’s a home, why should it be different for poorer people?
3 Will the end of secure tenancies lead to greater or lesser neighbourhood cohesion?

So are the Tories withdrawing their infamous right to buy? Yet another U-turn on a sacred, castrophic policy from the eighties?
Like allowing investment and retail banks to merge. Or destroying classroom discipline. Or abolishing council housing to cause an explosion of housing benefit paid to private landlords. (It’s like all the big problems this country currently faces were birthed in the eighties.)
At least they’re retaining their two-tier health and education systems.
